The Sustainability Academy’s Master in Local Sustainability Course is a no-cost, 9-week course that will cover energy, waste, water, food systems, habitat restoration, and transportation issues in San Mateo County, as well as the social and environmental justice context of these issues. This is a re-vamped version of the Master Resource Conservation course that we have traditionally offered.
This is a great opportunity to meet people in your community with common interests; learn more about the social context of environmental challenges in San Mateo County; and connect with local resource conservation organizations where you can do meaningful volunteer work related to the topics we cover in class.
Note: Master in Local Sustainability students are required to attend at least eight out of nine classes, and volunteer 40 hours within a year of course completion, to receive a certificate of completion.
Date: Wednesday evenings: May 6, May 13, May 20, May 27, June 3, June 10, June 17, June 24, and July 1
Time: 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Location: 455 County Center, Redwood City
