The event will feature FREE services in a drive-through format. Volunteers will direct cars through the City Hall parking lot to make stops at the various stations:
- Secure Document Shredding: Bring old bank statements, credit card offers, cancelled checks, old medical records, pay check stubs and anything with personal information for free shredding. Limit of 3 copy boxes or one large trash bag full of confidential material.
- Electronic Waste Collection: TVs, monitors, computers, computer components, fax machines, printers, toner cartridges (in plastic bag), tapes, wire, video game consoles, laptops, cameras and camcorders, MP3 players, VCRs and DVDs, cell phones, servers, UPS, networking devices. NOT ACCEPTED: lighting, household batteries, appliances, business waste.
- Compost Giveaway: Come full circle and use our nutrient-dense compost in your garden! The compost is created from food scraps and yard trimmings from Daly City households that are using their green compost cart. Bring your own container or bag; shovels will be provided. Limit of 1 cu yd per household, or more depending on supply throughout the day. Not using your cart yet? Contact the garbage company, Republic Services, at (650) 756-1130.
- Used Tire Take Back: limit of 9 passenger or light truck tires, up to R19.5, with or without rims. NOT for farm, heavy duty, and commercial or heavy equipment tires. Must show proof of Daly City residency and sign a form stating the number and origin of the tires. NO commercial tire, auto repair, or salvage businesses.
*Proof of residency is required to drop off items for disposal. Driver’s license and/or recent utility bill.
