PARTNERS
The Youth Climate Ambassadors (YCA) Leadership Program is made possible through a collaboration of non-profit organizations, agencies, and local government who have teamed up to support youth action on climate change. The YCA partner organizations include Citizens Environmental Council, Peninsula Clean Energy, San Mateo County Office of Education, and the County of San Mateo’s Sustainability Department.
The Citizens Environmental Council (CEC) of Burlingame has become a regional catalyst for sustainability, educating the public on critical environmental issues, advocating for planet-friendly policies and empowering youths to become environmental leaders.
CEC’s mission is to champion a more environmentally and economically sustainable community. CEC provides leadership in local green efforts and serves as an educational resource for residents, businesses and institutions.

The San Mateo County Office of Education (SMCOE) launched an Environmental Literacy and Sustainability Initiative (ELSI) in Fall 2017. This initiative promotes environmental literacy and helps prepare leaders to integrate environmental sustainability and a climate ready mindset, across a school community’s campus, curriculum, community and culture.
